ITRAMAS UNVEILS ENERGY SAVING Q-RAY LED BULBS TO REPLACE CONVENTIONAL LIGHTING

KUALA LUMPUR, November 10, 2009 -- ItraMAS Corporation Sdn Bhd, the manufacturer of energy saving Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting equipment, today unveiled its new line of Q-RAY LED bulbs as direct replacement for conventional halogen and incandescent light bulbs.

The new Q-RAY LED bulb replacement line was introduced for the first time at INTRADE Malaysia 2009 organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) at MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC), Menara MATRADE, here, from today till November 12.

INTRADE 2009 visitors will experience a full-scale comparison of the Q-RAY LED bulbs compared to existing bulbs when they visit ItraMAS booth B2129 at the exhibition.

The product line also features excellent colour rendering and does not generate heat, which makes it durable and can last up to 50,000 hours or more. LED lighting is known for its mercury-free content and eco-friendly features. Its low power consumption minimizes carbon emission to protect the environment.

The Q-RAY LED bulb is constructed with alloy material with ability to sink heat fast and effectively. Furthermore, with its unique design, energy saving is maximized while ensuring light quality consistency over the lifetime of the bulb.

ItraMAS’ CEO, Mr Lee Choo Boo in a statement said the introduction of the high-quality Q-RAY LED “drop-in-bulbs” would have historic implications for the lighting industry as they were designed for direct replacement.

“We believe this will pave the way for more energy saving lightings in the future. Built with unprecedented technology, the Q-RAY LED Bulb is ideal for most buildings such as hotels, shopping malls, commercial complexes and restaurants,” he said.

LEDs are one of the world’s most energy efficient light sources as they can save energy of up to 80 per cent besides having a life span of more than five times compared to traditional lighting technologies.

They do not generate any ultra violet rays, which means they are fully environmentally friendly and safe. Many advanced countries, as a result, recognize the importance of LED lighting and have started to adopt this technology.

ItraMAS Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (www.itramas.com) was founded in 1999 as a designer and manufacturer of energy saving Light Emitting Diode (LED) – based Traffic Signals and Variable Message Sign (VMS) systems for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) industry.

With extensive in-house R&D as well as international collaboration with various technology companies, ItraMAS has evolved into a one-stop ITS solutions provider. Today, ItraMAS is recognized by Global Industry Analyst Inc., a US-based research organization, as one of the global players and top 10 system integrators in the ITS industry.

The company has expanded into the area of LED lighting as it positions itself to be a major global player in the lighting industry. It first launched a series of LED-based lighting products successfully in various countries around the world. With the advent of white LEDs, the company launched Q-RAY, a brand name for commercial, residential and public lighting sectors.

These products include LED streetlights, downlights and MR16 light bulb replacement. Its US-based lighting division, Digital Lighting Inc., is also an ENERGY STAR partner and has won an award for the 2008 Lighting for Tomorrow competition organized jointly by the US Dept. of Energy and American Lighting Association.
